Softech’s Quick Guide to attending GITEX (without losing your mind… or badge)

Attending tech conferences like GITEX can feel like entering a tech amusement park - only with more suits, buzzwords, and surprisingly few seats.

We’re here as part of the Serbian startup ecosystem, and our quick survival guide comes straight from the floor at GITEX Europe in Berlin - where our Product Owner Viktorija is reporting live!

Let's get to the essentials.

Before you even enter…

GITEX is not the place to “wing it.”

  • Download the app: Get all the real time information, highlight booths and stages you actually care about.

  • Dress smart: Think startup-casual but conference-ready.

  • Viktorija’s pro tip: Bring two business card stacks. One will disappear.

Arrival: Pass, Map, Orientation

  • Prepare your pass early - download everything to your phone before the conference.

  • Use your GITEX map (here's the map to our booth - come say hi!)
  • Know your Hall. Know your Exit. You will get lost. That’s part of the charm.

Networking like a human

Every encounter could be a potential partner, client or investor.

  • Have your pitch ready in 10, 30, and 60-second versions.

  • Start conversations, not sales speeches.
  • Follow up while it’s still fresh - a quick LinkedIn message during your break is gold.

Mid-day energy crash is real

You will hit a wall. It’s normal.

  • Grab food before 2pm. After that, it's chaos.

  • Schedule short “nothing” breaks - 10 minutes in the chill zone can save your afternoon.

  • Hydrate!!!

What you really take home

At the end of the day, it’s not about what you picked up - it’s about what stays with you.

Take home:

  • A few real connections

  • A fresh sense of what’s happening across industries

  • One or two unexpected insights you didn’t see coming

Whether it’s your first GITEX or your fifth, navigating this beast of an event takes stamina, curiosity, and a bit of strategy. We’re proud to be here, learning, connecting, and representing Softech and Serbian startup ecosystem on the global tech stage.

And if you're here too - come say hi!
